What to Expect

Church can be an intimidating place to visit — especially if you don’t know what to expect. On Sundays, you can expect a friendly welcome, an inviting service, and relevant, Biblical teaching.  If you feel like wearing your Sunday best or something casual, go for it.  You will find shirts and ties, dresses, and blue jeans and shorts.  We gather collectively  as a church to worship Jesus Christ and for discipleship by hearing about God from the Bible, and worshipping Him through singing.  We try to incorporate a blended music style from hymns to more modern song styles.  The first Sunday is when we typically sing traditional hymns.  We know people worship God in different ways and we want you to be comfortable as you worship Him with us!

    Communion, Tithes and Offering

Each week we observe taking the Lord's Supper, also called Communion.  Jesus instituted this sacrament when He met with His disciples.  During communion, a meditation is given to focus our thoughts to what Jesus did for us when He died on the cross.  All immersed believers are welcome to partake during this time.

Each week we collect tithes and offerings from our church members to help with the ministry needs of the church and to also support the various missions we support both locally and around the globe.

    First time at Pleasant Grove?

We know that attending a church service for the first time can be a super scary thing... Being unsure of what the dress, culture or even when to stand up and sit down can be a weirdly paralyzing thought! At Pleasant Grove, you will be encouraged and maybe even challenged in your Spiritual journey.  We won't make you stand up and be recognized but our friendly folks will likely greet you at different times.  Please see Jack or one of our leadership team members if you have any questions.
